Photo by justin.jin It’s almost midnight, and my niece Gigja talks with her dog Pussle. We were on a small island that we reached by canoe during an eight-day paddle journey along the Lagan River at the height of summer.
We pitched tents along the river and built campfires with our siblings and our kids. Sweden gives people the right to camp anywhere, as long as their presence does not disturb others. We started the journey in Markaryd and eventually reached the coast near Snapparp, 50 kilometers (31 miles) downstream.
